For a truly exceptional halal dining experience in Houston, there's one place that stands out from the rest. With its Arabic and Saudi cuisine, this restaurant offers a unique and delicious experience that's worth every penny. In a city like Houston, where halal options are plentiful, this restaurant manages to stand out, offering a complete and satisfying dining experience that's hard to find elsewhere.

First Impressions

From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by the warm and relaxed atmosphere that permeates the entire restaurant. The interior is comfortable and inviting, with screens that show important events, like the World Cup, making it a great place to catch a game with friends. The overall ambiance is calm and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a night out with family or friends. I also noticed the big percolator of chai which is FREE and very good!

My Visits

On my recent visit to Kabsah Restaurant, I was blown away by the consistency of the dishes. Every single thing I've tried across my visits has been excellent, and this visit was no exception. The Muqalqal, Lamb Haneeth, and Fahsa were particularly standouts.

The Food

The food at Kabsah Restaurant is truly exceptional. One of the highlights of the meal is the enormous Tandoori Naan that arrives at the table, fresh and hot. This is no decorative bread, it's filling, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.

• The Muqalqal was delicious and filling, a perfect breakfast meal or dinner plan!

• The Fahsa had intense flavors and it comes in a heated bowl so it stays hot for long, really letting you enjoy this savory stew!

• The Lamb Haneeth was insanely delectable. The rice was fragrant and colorful, the lamb was tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned, the overall presentation (chef’s kiss).

The combination of flavors and textures in each dish is expertly balanced, and the portion sizes are generous to say the least. We literally had leftovers each time I went Alhamdulilah!

Service

The service at Kabsah Restaurant is fast and attentive, despite being a proper sit-down restaurant. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the fact that the food arrives quickly means you can get on with enjoying your meal without delay. I will add a disclaimer I haven’t gone when it’s packed, but I have been in there once when there were few people, and another time when there were many more, and the quickness of food delivery was consistent.

Value

While Kabsah Restaurant may be a tad bit more on the spendy side, with prices ranging from $15 to $30 per person, it's worth every dollar. The combination of consistent food, fast service, free chai, relaxed space, and generous portions makes it a truly unique and valuable dining experience. When you consider the quality of the ingredients, the portion sizes, the overall atmosphere, and most importantly the FLAVOR, it's clear that you're getting a lot of bang for your buck.
